SUMAPEDIA.COM – Pada Sabtu (14/1/2023) telah terjadi kerusuhan antara dua kelompok karyawan di area smelter PT Gunbuster Nickel Industri (GNI), Kabupaten Morowali Utara, Sulawesi Tengah yang menewaskan dua pekerja lokal dan satu tenaga kerja asing (TKA).

Kerusuhan itu diduga bermula dari penganiayaan oleh karyawan TKA terhadap karyawan yang merupakan seorang warga negara Indonesia. Namun kabar tersebut dibantah oleh Bupati Morowali Utara Delis Julkarson Hehi. Bahkan ia mengatakan bahwa pekerja lokal yang terlebih dahulu menyulut bentrokan tersebut.

“Tolong diluruskan informasinya ya. TKA yang diserang duluan, lalu terjadi bentrok. Di tengah bentrok ini ada oknum-oknum yang memanfaatkan kesempatan untuk melakukan perusakan dan penjarahan di asrama karyawan putri TKI,” ujar Delis pada Minggu (15/1).

Delis mengecam keras kejadian di PT GNI tersebut. Ia menyerahkan sepenuhnya peristiwa itu kepada pihak kepolisian dan aparat keamanan lainnya agar ditindaklanjuti secara hukum.

Kepolisian Daerah Sulawesi Tengah memeriksa sekitar 71 orang untuk mengusut tuntas kejadian tersebut. Pada Senin 16 Januari 2023, informasi tersebut disampaikan oleh Kepala Bidang Humas Polda Sulawesi Tengah, Kombes Didik Supranoto. Ia mengatakan 33 orang sudah menjalani pemeriksaan oleh pihak kepolisian setempat dari total 71 orang yang ditahan.

“Dari hasil pemeriksaan kami, 17 orang sudah terbukti melakukan perusakan dan pembakaran sedangkan 16 lainnya tidak terbukti,” kata Didik melalui pesan tertulis Senin (16/1) sebagaimana dikutip dari Tempo.

Didik mengatakan 16 orang yang tidak terbukti melakukan pembakaran dan perusakan kini telah dibebaskan dengan dikenai wajib lapor oleh pihak kepolisian.

“Sementara itu, 17 orang lain yang terbukti melakukan perusakan telah ditetapkan tersangka oleh kepolisian setelah dinaikkan ke penyidikan,” imbuhnya.

Kombes Pol Didik juga mengungkapkan kronologi bentrokan yang dipicu karena pihak keamanan perusahaan menahan sekitar 500 pekerja masuk ke dalam pos 4 pabrik smelter milik PT. GNI. Sebelumnya, ratusan pekerja tersebut melakukan aksi mogok kerja usai tujuh dari delapan tuntutan mereka belum disetujui oleh pihak perusahaan.
