Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia (DPR RI) adalah salah satu lembaga tinggi Negara dalam system ketatanegaraan Indonesia yang merupakan lembaga perwakilan rakyat. Anggota DPR RIsendiri dipilih oleh rakyat melalui pemilu dan partai politik, mereka yang terpilih mewakili daerahnya untuk menyampaikan aspirasi masyarakatnya kepada pemerintah untuk tercapainya kesejahteraan masyarakat dalam berbangsa dan bernegara. Dibawah kepemimpinan Presiden Joko Widododo Saat ini DPR Republik Indonesia Dipimpin oleh seorang wanita yang bernama Puan Maharani dan memiliki anggota sebanyak 575 orang yang terpilih sejak tanggal 1 Oktober 2019 melalui pemilu dan akan mengalami pergantian DPR RI dan Presiden pada pemilu yang akan dating yakni sekitar bulan Februari 2024.

Sebelum pergantian DPR dilakukan pada tahun 2024, kita harus mengetahui kinerja DPR RI pada masa saat ini apakah berhasil atau gagal dalam menjadi wakil rakyat. Periode tahun 2019-2024 menilai sektor penegakan hukum tidak berjalan dengan baik, bahkan bisa dikatakan DPR RItelah gagal dalam mewujudkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Hal ini menjadi perhatian serius oleh presiden dan DPR RI dalam rangka memperbaiki masalah perekonomian yang tidak kunjung rampung. Pasalnya banyak sekali kasus yang bermunculan dan sangat merugikan masyarakat kecil mulai dari tahun 2020 ketika pandemi Covid-19 yang membuat nilai ekonomi turun drastis, hilangnya mata pecaharian karena pemutusan hubungan kerja, banyaknya kasus stunting pada balita, kelangkaan minyak goreng hingga kenaikan bahan bakar minyak. Peran DPR pun dipertanyakan apakah membantu rakyat atau malah membuat rakyat semakin sengsara.

Pada kasus pandemi Covid-19 yang banyak membuat rakyat sengsara dengan kebijakan pemerintah yang menerapkan PSBB atau pembatasan sosial berskala besar banyak dari rakyat kita yang menderita akibat kehilangan pekerjaan melalui PHK. Dengan hilangnya mata pencaharian maka rakyat kita tidak punya pemasukan untuk mencukupi kebutuhan sehari harinya. Oleh sebab itu DPR RI berperan aktif dalam memberi solusi. Peran DPR RI ketika Covid-19 yakni memberi Bantuan berupa uang tunai maupun sembako kepada masyarakat miskin. Namun, hal ini dinilai kurang terhadap masyarakat pasalnya bantuan tersebut hanya dapat dirasakan di kota kota tertentu saja dan tidak mencakup seluruh wilayah Indonesia sedangkan pandemi Covid-19 ini terjadi di seluruh wilayah indonesia bahkan di seluruh dunia. Adapun masalah lain dari bantuan yang diberikan yakni pada sembako, banyak sembako yang dinilai kurang layak untuk di berikan pada masyarakat misalnya pada beras yang ingin di salurkan kepada masyarakat. Beras tersebut dinilai kurang layak karena terdapat kutu beras dan kondisi beras yang tidak bagus padahal dana yang dikeluarkan untuk bantuan ini sebesar triliunan rupiah tapi kualitas sembako yang diberikan berbanding terbalik. Kami menduga adanya kasus korupsi bantuan sembako yang di lakukan oleh aparat pemerintah terhadap masyarakat. Oleh karena hal ini DPR dinilai gagal dalam mensejahterahkan masyarakat sesuai cita-cita bangsa karena masyarakat tidak puas terhadap peran DPR dalam membantu pemulihan ekonomi masyarakat pasca pandemi Covid-19 bahkan mereka masih melakukan kasus korupsi sembako yang bernilai triliunan yang sampai saat ini belum terpecahkan.

Kasus pandemi tidak berdampak pada kalangan orang dewasa saja yang kehilangan pekerjaan akibat di PHK tetapi kalangan balita pun terkena dampaknya. Balita yang rentan terkena virus corona akibat daya tahan tubuhnya yang lemah selain itu juga membutuhkan gizi yang baik untuk keberlangsungan proses pertumbuhannya. Pada masa pandemi Covid-19 banyak orang tua yang kehilangan pekerjaan sehingga mereka tidak mempunyai penghasilan akibatnya mereka tidak sanggup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizi balita. Contohnya pada pembelian susu balita, banyak orang tua berpindah membeli susu yang lebih murah dari biasanya yang sering beli, tidak hanya itu saja, demi menghemat kebutuhan keluarga pembuatan susu pada balita tidak sesuai takaran lebih sedikit dari biasanya. Oleh sebab itu, banyak balita yang kekurangan gizi dan mengalami stunting. Kondisi ini turut memprihatinkan dan banyak mengundang rasa belas kasihan dari orang banyak tidak lepas dari peran DPR RI. Pemerintah membuat kebijakan untuk menangani kasus ini dengan segera melakukan imunisasi di klinik terdekat seperti posyandu, balai desa, dan puskesmas setempat. Tetapi hal ini tidak dilakukan oleh masyarakat karna masyarakat takut terkena virus Covid-19 terhadap bayi mereka karna bayi masi memiliki sistem kekebalan tubuh yang rendah dan rentan terkena virus ketika keluar rumah. Disisi lain tempat imunisasi yang telah ditentukan diklaim adalah tempat yang tidak sesuai karena banyak ditempati orang yang sudah terkena virus Covid-19. Oleh karena hal ini kebijakan peran DPR RI dalam kasus stunting pada balita dinilai tidak efektif dan tidak membantu masyarakat sehingga banyak terjadi kasus balita yang mengami stunting.

Jelang bulan Ramadhan tahun 2022 harga sembako mulai naik dari harga biasanya mulai dari beras, gula dan minyak goreng. Harga minyak goreng naik menjadi 14 ribu/liter di pasar tradisional maupun pasar modern. Tidak lama setelah itu kelangkaan minyak goreng terjadi di pasar sehingga mengakibatkan ibu ibu sulit untuk mendapatkan minyak goreng, terlebih lagi minyak goreng adalah bahan utama masyarakat indonesia untuk memasak. Menyikapi kasus kelangkaan minyak goreng yang terjadi DPR RI pun tidak tinggal diam. DPR RI terus memonitoring kelangkaan minyak goreng yang terjadi saat ini dengan pihak pemerintah, penegak hukum dan sektor perekonomian. Wakil ketua DPR RI Koordinator Bidang Ekonomi dan Keuangan Sufmi Dasco Ahmad menjelaskan bahwa kelangkaan minyak goreng ini terjadi akibat keterlambatan di sektor distribusi dari negeri. Terlebih lagi adanya dugaan mafia minyak goreng yang menyebabkan kelangkaan karena pada saat ini produksi minyak goreng berjalan normal tanpa adanya gangguan dari sumber daya alam. Selain itu sarana transportasi dinilai sudah memadai untuk melakukan distributor minyak goreng di dalam negeri. Dengan demikian peran DPR RI dalam menjalankan fungsi pengawasannya terkait permasalahan minyak goreng dinilai kurang karena banyak mengalami permasalahan sehingga masyarakat menganggap bahwa DPR RI gagal dalam menjadi wakil rakyat karena banyaknya kasus yang terjadi dan tingkat kinerja yang buruk.

              Pada tahun 2024 kita akan melaksanakan pemilu yang nantinya akan menjadi pemimpin bangsa dan wakil rakyat dari kita semua yang akan duduk di kursi parlemen. Kita sebagai masyarakat harus memilih orang yang benar peduli kepada rakyat melalui bukti bukan hanya sekedar janji ketika ingin merebut kursi sehingga lupa pada jati diri. Memilih orang yang benar memikirkan rakyat bukan hanya tidur ketika sidang soal rakyat karena kita menitipkan kepercayaan pada mereka tentang keberlangsungan kesejahteraan rakyat Indonesia.
